• The launch of these operations coincides with the start of the agreement with CELSA GROUP for the logistics of its steel products

At the Port of Tarragona, BERGÉ will handle a million tons of construction aggregate destined for the US. This material, used in civil engineering works, will be exported by the company Canteras La Ponderosa, located in the village of Alcover in the province of Tarragona.

This agreement, which makes significant use of the Tarragona Port facilities, comes at a key time for Spanish exports to the US. This economic drive, with an expected record investment of 550 billion Euros, will help modernize infrastructure in this country.

The BERGÉ operations, backed by its own technical and human resources, will focus on the reception, consignment, stevedoring, shipping and customs clearance, all from the Aragón and Andalucía docks belonging to this port operator. These intense operations will involve daily collection of goods and shipping on vessels with capacity for 45,000 tons.

What’s more, BERGÉ recently reached a logistics agreement with CELSA GROUP at this port to offer storage and stevedoring services for the shipping of steel products. BERGÉ is able to offer an extensive team and installations at the Port of Tarragona, as well as proven experience in these types of processes and activities.

This service will allow the export of an estimated 300,000 tons of port traffic per year from the CELSA GROUP’s plant at Castellbisbal (Barcelona), destined for the main port recipients of steel in the Mediterranean.

At the Port of Tarragona, BERGÉ boasts 50,000 m2 of versatile operative areas, storage for 150,000 tons and 170,000 m2 for housing vehicles.
