Via its Shipping business unit, BERGÉ was responsible for the international maritime transport of sculptures by Basque artist Eduardo Chillida on their return to Bilbao. After a series of international exhibitions in the US, the pieces “Consejo al espacio”, “Esertoki” and “Arco de la Libertad” have returned to Spain. As BERGÉ was in charge of getting the sculptures to the exhibitions, it has also been responsible for their return, land transport included.

The international transport was carried out by the shipping company ACL (Atlantic Container Line), which is a part of the Grimaldi Group for which Agencia Marítima Condeminas Bilbao is the general agent in Spain. These works of art, given their value and special characteristics, dimensions and fragile nature, were shipped with special care throughout all of the phases (road transport, shrink wrapping, lashing and loading onto Mafi roll trailers). The company ACL has a weekly service that sets off from Bilbao to the US for transporting containers, design load and Ro-Ro.
