• It covers clients’ in-plant logistical services and is headed by Alejandro Barceló, who has recently joined the company.

BERGÉ has created a new Industrial Process Logistics division, which is focused solely on consolidating all industrial logistics activity and tailoring it to its main clients’ needs.

The company has hired Alejandro Barceló to be the leader of this new division. He boasts over 25 years of experience in the integrated management of logistics chains, operations and supply chains.

Reporting directly to Pedro García Navarro, the general executive director, Barceló will implement a new operating model comprising two sub-areas – automotive and steel – which will be responsible for in-plant logistical services in these respective industries.

What’s more, Industrial Process Logistics will also oversee the activity of two of BERGÉ’s subsidiaries: Manheim, a leading company in vehicle remarketing, online auction and expert services; and Transport Service Iberia (TSI), which performs logistical services at the Ford plant in Almussafes, Valencia.

In addition to its in-plant logistical services, BERGÉ operates at 27 ports in Spain (including Bayonne in France), as well as in Mexico and Colombia. The company handles more than 30 million tonnes of goods each year and is the leading consignment company with almost 10,000 ships per year.
