  • It will present one of the 15 Excellence Awards, prestigious awards in the cruise industry, during the ceremony scheduled to take place on 13 February in A Coruña.

BERGÉ, a leading logistics operator, is reinforcing its commitment to good practices in the cruise industry by presenting one of 15 Excellence Awards, prestigious awards in the cruise industry which recognise companies every year that, based on the opinions of the cruise passengers themselves, perform the best in the categories of best port, shipping company, entertainment, boat and crew, among others.

As such, the award for best entertainment on board will be presented by José Luis Carretero Palacios, Sales Manager of BERGÉ cruises, in a ceremony that will take place on 13 February in Teatro Rosalía de Castro in A Coruña. This city was not chosen at random as it is one of the most up-and-coming locations for cruise tourism, with more than 100 calls and 200,000 passengers planned for this year alone, helping it to host the event for the first time.

In this year’s Excellence award ceremony, organised by Cruises News Media Group since 2008, 300 people from the cruise sector have been invited to attend, among them national directors of the main shipping companies, ports, ancillary industry, tourism services, travel agencies, tour operators, government agencies, press, advertising agencies and cruise passengers.

Spain is the second most important country in Europe for this industry, with 3 million visitors every year. In this field, BERGÉ manages 16% of the cruise liners which arrive in Spain every year, in other words, 700 cruise ships with more than 1 million passengers on board. BERGÉ stands out for being the only company in Spain to offer a comprehensive service, providing assistance to shipowners and the main cruise liners in logistics and stevedoring of provisions, agency and auxiliary services (customs management, as well as the service provided to passengers and crew in terms of mobility, accommodation or baggage handling) and provisioning.
