BERGÉ VIGÍA, the vehicle logistics operator in Colombia, increases its service capacity by putting into operation a new logistics centre in Yotoco, a town on Colombia’s Pacific coast. Its proximity to Buenaventura Port, one of the entry routes for the country’s vehicle imports, makes it a key location.

The new facilities of the Carport Yotoco centre are located within the CLIP (Pacific Industrial Logistic Centre) customs-free zone and bolster the capacity of BERGÉ VIGÍA in Colombia, where it already has another platform located in Santa Marta.
The new facilities of the Carport Yotoco centre includes over 100,000 m2 of open space and 800 m2 of workshop space, providing an extensive service portfolio, such as repairing, refuelling, storing, electric vehicle battery charging, maintaining and cleaning, among others.

BERGÉ VIGÍA has just celebrated its first year in business, a result of the alliance between Transportes Vigía (Colombia) and BERGÉ (Spain). Its aim is to consolidate itself as the leading vehicle logistics operator in Colombia, providing a comprehensive service that ranges from port reception, storage, auxiliary services, workshop services and vehicle transportation, up to delivery at authorised dealers.

BERGÉ VIGÍA currently has, between the two centres of Yotoco and Santa Marta, over 220,000 m2 of open-air storage, a fleet of over 200 port-vehicle lorries, a capacity to transport 140,000 vehicles per year, 2,500 m2 of workshops, two logistics centres and over 300 employees.

According to Sebastián Echeverry, managing director of BERGÉ VIGÍA: “At BERGÉ VIGÍA, we seek to optimise all the logistic processes of our clients, the carmakers. Through the new Yotoco centre, we will achieve significant operational improvements in terms of new benefits, efficiency in customs processes, agility and time. As such, we will contribute to the socioeconomic development of Valle del Cauca and to strengthening the growing automobile market”.
