- The agreement includes a 15% reduction in operating fees of which 35% is reinvested in projects with a positive impact on sustainability
BERGÉ has renewed the Agreement on Good Environmental Practices with the Port Authority of Bilbao as part of its commitment to continuous improvements in environmental performance.
This agreement incentivises the adoption of better environmental practices in the Port of Bilbao, so that BERGÉ obtains a 15% reduction in operating fees, of which 35% is reinvested in projects that have a positive impact on sustainability.
In 2025, this discount was allocated to the renewal of the machinery fleet with more efficient models, including a new Liebherr LHM 550 crane, forklifts, front-end loaders and reach stackers. The new extension will allow it to continue to modernise its assets in 2026, as well as enable other improvements to the road surface and the expansion of the covered area for bulk storage.
All these actions are part of BERGÉ’s goal to achieve more efficient and sustainable port operations that benefit customers and result in greater competitiveness at the ports where it operates, up to 27 in Spain and France (Bayonne), offering the sector broad geographical reach, storage capacity and the personal attention that customers require.
