The sector predicts that cruise activity will have fully recovered by the end of 2022, which is key to the Spanish tourism industry.

The return to normality of the cruise industry will be the focus of a new edition of the International Cruise Summit in Madrid, which will be held on 17th and 18th November at Hotel Meliá Castilla, and in which BERGÉ will play an active role, contributing to the recovery of the sector based on its 25 years of experience serving cruise lines and their passengers.

BERGÉ, as a sponsor of the Summit, is committed to this sector for the recovery of tourism in our country, where more than 10.5 million cruise passengers arrived each year before the pandemic. In this respect, the forecasts of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) in Spain predict that between 75% and 80% of the ships will be operating again before the end of 2021, reaching 100% over the course of 2022. The meeting in Madrid will be the sector’s first post-pandemic event in Europe, bringing together some 400 people from the industry to give their current and future vision of the business.

BERGÉ provides a comprehensive service to these ships, offering assistance to shipowners and the main cruise lines in terms of logistics and stevedoring of provisions, agency and auxiliary services, customs management, the service provided to passengers and crew in terms of mobility, accommodation or baggage handling, and provisioning.
