  • The warehouses have received authorisation from the respective port authorities and are expected to enter service throughout 2027.

BERGÉ is planning to increase its storage capacity at the ports of Cartagena, Tarragona and Sagunto, upon receipt of authorisation from each of the respective port authorities, as part of its ongoing investment plan. The move aims to improve operational efficiency for the benefit of customers and to foster competition among port facilities.

Specifically, BERGÉ will be adding a new warehouse for dry bulk in Cartagena, located at Plot 3 in the industrial activities area of the Escombreras dock, with an estimated minimum annual throughput of 94,600 tonnes. The facility will comprise two independent, symmetrically designed silos, allowing goods to be handled separately according to their type, origin or destination.

Meanwhile, in Tarragona, a new warehouse will be built for agri-food storage. The plan will see the construction of a facility covering 6,000 m2 and standing 17 metres tall, serving to address the growing demand for storage capacity dedicated to agri-food cargoes.

In Sagunto, BERGÉ has been granted a temporary one-year authorisation, extendable to three years, to use a new area at the North Quay for the handling and storage of goods. In this 9,500 m2 space, the aim is to reach an annual volume of at least 160,000 tonnes.

Construction work is expected to take place over the coming months, with the facilities scheduled to enter service before the end of 2027.

With operations at key ports in Spain and Bayonne in France, along with activity in Mexico and Colombia as part of its internationalisation process, BERGÉ manages over 30 million tonnes of goods each year as the leading company in ship agency services, handling some 10,000 vessels per year.
