BERGÉ continues to hit new milestones in its operations in Colombia, where its facilities have recently undergone various expansion and improvement projects. The company is thus recording new all-time inventory highs across its three vehicle lots since arriving in the country in 2014, now with a total of over 16,800 vehicles. The stock is distributed across the Yotoco facility, which holds 8,300 units; Santa Marta, 5,009; and Bogotá, 3,517.
Specifically, the Yotoco facility has been expanded by 100,000 m2, including a new 7,000 m2 loading and unloading area, with 28 spaces for simultaneous vehicle loading or unloading operations and 20 car transporter parking bays.
Meanwhile, the Santa Marta lot has seen its vehicle reception area expanded by a further 100,000 m2, with the support of the Tayrona Free Trade Zone. This brings the current lot’s storage area to 160,000 m2.
In Bogotá, BERGÉ has built a new container unloading area, where more than 500 unloading operations have already been recorded in the last four months, helping to boost the intake of new customers. Additionally, a new 20,000 m2 vehicle lot has been built to increase storage capacity.
Through these projects, BERGÉ continues to drive its international expansion plans, strengthening its presence in France, Mexico and Colombia.
The company has been operating in Colombia since 2014, employs 450 people, and is distinguished for integrating vehicle transport with storage and value-added services for cars and lorries. These specialist operations involve managing a fleet of more than 150 car transporters – over 130 of which are owned by the company – and a network of vehicle lots with workshops in Yotoco, Santa Marta and Bogotá, spanning over 370,000 m2. The network also includes over 3,300 m2 of workshop space: 1,400 m2 in Bogotá, 1,100 m2 in Santa Marta and 850 m2 in Yotoco.
