BERGÉ and the Spanish Maritime Institute to provide training in Customs Management for International Trade

BERGÉ and the Spanish Maritime Institute will provide training in Customs Management for International Trade, with the aim of developing talented individuals who can achieve success in the field of international goods and services trade, a key area for making the most of business and growth opportunities outside our borders.

The course will be streamed to students so they can gain a thorough understanding of Customs Management. The course content includes the following: the Customs Territory of the EU and the Union Customs Code (UCC) together with its legal framework and European trade policy; Shipping Agents; Authorised Economic Operators; port terminals; and the Customs goods declaration and Customs Regimes.

BERGÉ aims to achieve this through a group of experts with excellent teaching experience and a high degree of specialisation, such as Sira Aranguren, current Director of BERGÉ Customs, or Zuriñe Quesada, Head of the company’s Customs Department.

The course will begin on 31 January and will continue on 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21 and 23 February from 17:00 to 20:00. This will make up a total of 24 teaching hours. The course is geared towards professionals who work for shipping agents, freight forwarders, logistics operators, shipowners, charterers, export and import companies, and terminals which work with customs.

This training in Customs Management will complement BERGÉ’s commitment to nourishing talent, driven by educational courses such as the Master’s in Maritime Business and Associated Logistics, which has been running for six successful years and is offered in collaboration with the Universidad de Cantabria, the Universidad del País Vasco, and the Universidad Politécnica de Barcelona.
