BERGÉ is making headway in environmental matters after achieving registration in the EMAS Eco-Management and Audit Scheme in the Region of Murcia.

This scheme, developed by the European Union, promotes the voluntary adoption of practices aimed at continuously improving the environmental behaviour of businesses and organisations.

The confirmed scope includes loading, unloading, ship agency, cargo handling, storage and transport services at its terminal in the Port of Cartagena, both at its offices and in the three operational warehouses managed by the company at the port.

Recently, BERGÉ in Cartagena was re-evaluated under SQAS (Safety & Quality Assessment System) in the Transport module for its operations at this port. This refers to the evaluation system created by Cefic (The European Chemical Industry Council). The evaluation resulted in an overall score of 73% and will remain valid until November 2028.

Previously, BERGÉ also obtained the French ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications for its operations at the Port of Bayonne, reflecting the organisation’s firm commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
