BERGÉ has appointed Ramón Moreno as the new manager of its agri-food division. Formerly the director of the automated terminal in Huelva, he is ready to lead the charge in a sector in which the company moves an average of 7.5 million tonnes of goods each year at its 26 Spanish ports and its one French port in Bayonne.
Ramón Moreno has a long-standing relationship with BERGÉ, having joined in 2010 after a stint at shipping group Contenemar. In this time, he has held a number of positions of responsibility in operations, management and customer relations. In his new post he will report directly to María José Gámez, the client relationship manager.
Moreno has gained invaluable experience overseeing the launch of the new automated terminal in Huelva, which allowed BERGÉ to boost its logistics capacity in the agro sector by 78,000 tonnes, and turned the port into a strategic hub thanks to its privileged location at the entrance to the Mediterranean, serving as a point of connection with the Americas and Africa. He is now tasked with passing this experience on to the rest of the company’s branches.
